Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) of Philippines and International Register of Shipping (IRS) have on July 18, 2008 entered in to an "Agreement Governing the Delegation of Statutory Certification Services for the Vessels Registered in the Philippines." This agreement authorizes IRS to carry out statutory surveys/audits onboard Philippines flag vessels and issue appropriate statutory certificates on behalf of the Philippines flag administration.
